Space can scan local and network drives, network shares, and FTP accounts. |

Local or network drive |

Choose this option for local drives (hard drives, CDROM drives, floppy drives etc.), network drives or network shares. Space will then present a screen allowing you to choose where to start the scan from. If you do not want to scan an entire drive, a directory can be selected as a starting point, and only that directory and any it contains will be scanned. |

FTP account |

Choose this option for scanning FTP servers; this can be particularly useful for checking your space usage in Web sites. The screen to the right will appear, allowing you to enter server details. Click 'new' to create a new entry, and enter hostname, username and password. All settings are saved in the registry, so you only need to enter them once. |

If an error occurs, a dialogue box appears informing you of the type of error, and the location in which it was encountered. You can choose to:
You can also stop any errors interrupting the scan, but they will always be listed in the Error Log view when the scan is complete. |
